How can I get a title to a truck that has been left on my property for 5 years?
The truck was given to me as a work truck by my boss. His company closed down and he moved out of state and told me to keep the truck as payment for back wages. After the registration expired Its been 5 years sitting in my driveway and he wont send me the title. How can I get the title without having the state impound and auction it?
If you want to keep the truck, you or he could request a duplicate title online and have it mailed to your boss, then have him sign it over to you and mail the title to you. It costs money but not a lot.
If you want the truck to be gone, you could call a towing company to junk it. They may charge you money but you could take him to small claims to recover. Or you could call the police, the tow company will take it, and they’ll bill your boss for the tow and junk.

Tell your former boss you are going to drag the truck to his house and drop in his driveway then file a lawsuit against him to collect the 5 years of storage fees.
See if he doesn’t send you the title after that conversation.
Seriously, you need to contact the county and ask them how to claim abandoned property. If it’s not done properly you can find yourself in some un needed trouble. The details may even be listed in the county website.
