Auctions are more hassle than using a dealer. At least with a dealer you have someone to go back to if you have a problem. Auctions are a "cash and carry, it's yours now" situation. The best way to locate a good used truck is to find an individual seller using AutoTrader or Craigslist.

Auctions that are open to the public are no great deal, you're probably better off with a private party deal. In order to attend and purchase at a real auction, you must be a licensed wholesaler.

So you don't want warranty, or anybody to talk to if you have a problem? I take it you aren't in the market for a new vehicle then. Newspapers have pages of classified ads from people selling vehicles every day of the week. Auctions often have salvage vehicles, maybe some that have been repaired by unknown persons, they aren't the place for people to buy unless experienced in vehicles, and their repairs.

why dont you try looking in the classified adds in the newspaper. i think thats even better than an auction
