Government Auto Auctions RETIRED POLICE CARS?!? 10 POINTS!?
OK, so I’ve heard that you can get retired police cars at a Gov. Auto Auction?
So how exactly will be the cars sold like, will there still be the stickers/decals on the car? Will the paint be the same or will everything be stripped down as far as the paint goes? And since police cars have rock hard plastic seats in the back seperated by glass between the front and back row, will this be the same? Or will everything just be stripped?
The cars will have all decals and lights and modules for lights removed and returned to stock, We take the rear seat out and replace it with stock before it goes to auction. The cars are generally beat up but some of them do get new motors/transmissions before they go to auction……
Oh yeah the shield will be removed to, at least in most enforcement agencies

They are stripped down and left a little dirty. Most marked vehicles still have recognizable shapes in the paint from years of wear.

I am the guy who does this
I bought one for 1200 that still had the mesh between the seats, no decals or light bar. It was black and white it cost me 400 to get it painted at maco. not bad for an 04 crown vic with performance package and perfect service records

I have seen these cars sold many a time. They are pretty stripped. They do not leave the divider, they strip the decals from the vehicle and a lot of the time they remove anything that can be installed into another vehicle. They sometimes have huge problems though. Most have transmission problems and or engine work needs to be performed.

I found a review of several auto auction and government seized web sites. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Government-Seized-Auto-Auctions.html These sites can probably answer your questions. However they cost a small fee to join, but I couldn’t find any free resources online. Since the inventory is always changing, your signup fee is probably used to employ people to keep the site up to date.
